1. I am Headmaster Sensei.
I am in charge and I can put other people in charge. Respect all leaders.
2. We are the secret service.
Youth group is a safe place, so all discussions are confidential.
To keep each other safe, though, we don't keep secrets that hurt you, hurt someone else, or are
illegal. In which case, I'm legally required to tell your parents.
If you have a friend in a situation that hurts themselves, someone else, or is illegal, please tell me.
3. Respect words.
One person shares at a time. This includes not writing notes to each other or making faces at each
other - it's a form of communicating and it's distracting when someone wants to share.
4. One size fits all.
Everyone belongs in youth group because we're all weird in our own ways. We don't put others down, make fun of others - even people that aren't here, pick on others, or gossip about others. We
appreciate each others' differences.
5. Right to Pass.
Participation is voluntary. I want you to participate, but if you're not comfortable with a game or
discussion, you can always just say you want to pass. And if someone else passes, that's something that we respect instead of pushing them to do it.)
6. Keep it clean.
Clean words: no cussing or inappropriate comments.
Clean space: please pick up after yourself.
7. Respect your bubble and other people's bubbles.
Use your body respectfully: modest clothing and appropriate PDA. Respect other people's bodies and spaces too. Remember that "stop" means you walk away from them.
8. We are stranded on an island.
Stay with the group at all times and let me know where you are going if you need to leave the group for something.
9. Adios amigo.
If you continuously break the rules, I will call your parents to pick you up. if your parents can't pick you up, you will get to sit out with me or go sit in the office (if applicable).
I know that no set of rules is perfect or all encompassing, so please let me know your thoughts. Do you have a favorite rule? Do you have a rule you would like to add? Do you see a rule you would like to edit? Feel free to comment below and welcome to youth group!
