What camp means to me
But man, a week never flew by so fast. Getting there and looking upon the gaga ball pit, the pavilion, and the river, I feel the nostalgia that I see mirrored on the returning members' faces. Then I see the people that are there for the first time, and their expression is one of excitement masked by curiosity and maybe a little fear. But overall, everyone was ready to explore.
And that's exactly what we did - played games, hiked, heard sermons, dominated at gaga ball, and had copious amounts of fun. We even made friends with an Australian guy! Our youth mascot was a wallaby too! Camp means a lot spiritually to us too. Each of us made steps personally whether it was through the speaker, the staff, lessons, or just seeing each others' development. All in all, camp eagle is nearly invaluable to our youth group, including me.
